I was going through my new Martha Stewart magazine and came across this gorgeous article about calligraphy. It was so visually inspiring, and it reminded me of an older article I had up on my inspiration board.
The flourishes and over the top decorative typography have really been an influence to us when designing.
This art of lettering has inspired things from fashion to interior design, to paper! Check out the blue silk scarf above from the 1950’s. The calligraphic details are amazing!
Above is a sampling of work we have done that has been inspired by this calligraphy movement. In light of Valentines day being just around the corner, the top photos are of our “For My Dearest” valentine card. The others are various pieces, including a letterpress invitation we did for Orange Coast Weddings Magazine.
