Hot off the Press {invitation booklet}

This was a really fun project we worked on recently. The couple was eloping in wine country, but upon their return they wanted to invite family and friends to a weekend long celebration in Las Vegas. They wanted a classic style with just a hint of Vegas. Here are the results!

The cover of the booklet was hand letterpress printed in black, with the inside pages flat printed on a pearlescent stock! I just love the results. Notice the fun poker chip details on the rsvp. What do you guys think?!

Real Wedding {Shayna + Justin}

5comments

When I first spotted Shayna Kulik’s wedding reception in the latest issue of Rue Magazine I was blown away. The wedding was shot by the brilliant Moss and Isaac, who sent over these fabulous shots of the event.

I think what first captured my attention was the uniqueness of this wedding. The subdued, yet undeniably chic, and irresistably whimsical vibe is so amazing and so obviously a true reflection of the couple themselves.

My favorite part of this wedding is Shayna and Justin’s vision of having the guests be active participants in the festivities. I have always been a huge fan of interactive entertaining, and this wedding reception captures this perfectly. Providing guests with activity cards, suggesting they check off each activity as they complete it! The activities included a very modern looking s’mores bar, a photo booth, and my favorite, have your picture painted by the very talented watercolor artist Erin Fagerland.

The bold patterns, and chic black and white color scheme is so fabulous and so now! Shayna is the talented designer behind Pattern Pulp, and the bold and graphic vibe was a direct reflection of the couple. Thank you so much Moss and Isaac for sharing this peek into a fabulous and unique wedding reception. It is so refreshing to see something different and seeing the couple’s personalities shining through. The amazing styling team of  You + Me Styling did a brilliant job executing Shayna’s vision! and you really MUST check out this behind the scenes video by Madison Waters…LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Spirograph Cake Decorating

3comments

This exhibit by Misher’ Traxler is absolutely brilliant. Visitors were invited to take an active role in the cake decorating by deciding how long the machine would apply the decorative icing (similar to a spirograph). I can’t help but day dream having this at a child’s birthday and doing something like this with cupcakes…would that not be so much fun!?

The best part, I think, is how pretty the cakes turn out to be! I adore this concept and applaud the creativity of Katharina Mischer and Thomas Traxler. (originally spotted on Kids Room Zoom)

Real Wedding Inspiration board {ny winery}

I am very excited to be helping plan a wedding for some close family that will take place in upstate New York at a small winery later this year. The couple is down to earth, and definitely not into the anything too “wedding-y”. But they are still looking to make the event their own. Here are some of my inspirations and ideas so far…

leseric1

The groom is a home builder and craftsman, so wood details are a must! Love this tree chalk board via etsy. A unique seating chart via Green Wedding Shoes, featuring personal pictures of places the couple visited together.

leseric2

The bride does not see herself in anything too traditional. This knee length frock via Once Wed is gorgeous. For accessories, this peacock feather head piece, via Style Me Pretty, is perfect for adding a hint of nature while staying chic. Love the idea of a homemade granola as a favor. via Green Wedding Shoes.

I am in love with this idea of having an Acai bar. Perfect for a morning after brunch. Genius Jesi Haack! The bride loves to bake pies, so a pie buffet, via Once Wed, is the perfect solution for dessert. Lastly, leave it to Bash Please via Design Sponge, to come up with the most perfect picnic reception. Imagine guests getting their own blankets and picnic baskets overlooking the vineyard. So rustic chic. More to come…stay tuned!

I can only imagine as a child having all these fun food pop options. Thanks to the brilliance that is Bakerella, the food pop phenomenon is growing and creating a very fun food trend. These instantly elevate any event from a child’s birthday party to a shower or even a wedding reception. Its food with a sense of humor that is also trés chic! Perfect!

{4} pop tarts on a stick might be my very favorite. I love the way they look, so adorable, mini pop tarts. {5} these mini-cinnamon buns on a stick look so delicious!!

{6} For something savory, pizzas on a stick are so great. There are so many different things you could do with these! I would love to play around with these! The perfect appetizer for a cocktail party!  {7} and ever since I spotted this on Twig and Thistle I have been dying to try hot chocolate on a stick! Yum! Hope this inspires you. Let me know what you guys make! xoxo

Fairies, Cheese, and more!

I spotted this photo essay by Anna Williams over on the lovely Oh Joy yesterday and I could not contain my excitement!! It’s called a Princely Feast and its “part of an ongoing essay exploring hunger, consumption and beauty”. This entire shoot is a dream come true. Fabulous food, enchanted forests, fairies, sprites, and vibrant green moss, mushrooms, cheese, goats…oh my!!

annawilliams1

Here is my favorite part “After the feast, still awaiting the judgement of the land, the witch and sprites danced. …and if you offer your gratitude before each meal, the end of our story will be revealed. For those who know how to listen.”

annawilliams2

I adore the fairytale quality. I also think this would be the most amazing inspiration for a wedding! Oh I am day dreaming now of this! Sigh…thanks Joy for showing me this bit of inspiration. You can see the full project here.

These are a few more Anna Williams‘ images that I just completely LOVE! I had to share.
