Happy Mom Monday friends! I thought I would share some shots of the most precious bunnies my mom handmade for the girls for Valentine’s day. She used bits from their old clothes, to make them extra special. I absolutely love them as do the girls. My mom does not forget any detail, each bunny came in a handmade pouch made from old cashmere sweaters, with a pink cashmere heart sewn on each one. Seriously how adorable right? Such a sweet keepsake, I just love that I can remember each one of the outfits she used, and they hold such special memories.
Another edition of the gift guide, this time, kids edition. From living room winter camp outs to the perfect thing for the little princess in your life. What are on your kids wish list this year?!
I am always a fan of DIY gifts for the holidays. Here are a few unique ideas I came across recently…
With the holidays almost upon us it’s time to start thinking about hostess gifts. This is a recipe for a super easy hostess gift that is sure to impress. The key here is attention to detail. Choose a local craft beer in a beautiful bottle like this Stone Brewery Coconut IPA. Choose a beautiful organic artisinal cheese. Cowgirl Creamery is a great source for this. You can’t go wrong with any of their cheeses, but for a real foodie, Red Hawk is my pick. If there is time, whip up a batch of these delicious rosemary marcona almonds. If you run out of time Whole Foods has some killer ones. The key here is to repackage them in a darling little mason jar. Now drop all your treats in one of these fabulous wire baskets and your are done!
With the excitement of a new baby coming into this world, so often the mom gets forgotten, the presents for the tiny miracle come pouring in. But what about mom!? Whether a hospital birth, a birth center birth or a home birth, it’s so important to create a serene and comfortable environment for the mom. Here are a few of my favorite ideas for Birth day presents. Pick one up for a friend, or pack a bag full for yourself!
This aromatic, soy candle from The Honest Company creates the perfect calm environment.
A handmade one of a kind soft cashmere bunny from The Stitch Farm offers the perfect amount of comfort to mom.
Organic lip balm is a MUST! from The Honest Company.
A gorgeous silk Plum Pretty Sugar robe would be perfection don’t you think?
Or one of these luxurious and uber comfortable robes from Intimint.
And the ULTIMATE all in one “Hospital Box” from the one and only Hatch Collection…cashmere socks and all…wow!
I couldn’t resist sharing another treasury I created…Wrap it up pretty in pink! These are some great resources to make your gift fabulous. Check out all the fabulous etsy shops here.
I just had to share my latest loves with all you moms today! Happy mom monday!
How gorgeous are these plush beauties!? By the amazingly talented EvaJuliet.
The most precious crowns and head-pieces for the little ones I have ever seen! By crowned embellishments. Swoon!!
My mother sent me this gorgeous maternity collection, Hatch Collection. I mean seriously did you know maternity clothes could be so chic!? Leave it to my mother to discover it. Upon further research I saw that the adorable Joy of Oh Joy writes for their blog! Go check it out!
Here are a few of my favorite DIY details I have seen lately…I think any one of these would make a stylish personal touch to a wedding.
I have wanted one of these vintage light up letters forever, and this simple DIY project spotted on Design Sponge is perfect for reception decor! I absolutely LOVE these diy library kits from Twig and Thistle. What a perfect bridesmaid gift! I love the idea of hand stitched names on the place mats or napkins in lieu of place cards. Such a fabulous keepsake, via Once Wed.
I adore these diy flags via 100 Layer Cake. I can see them in signature cocktails floating around the reception! And these DIY flowers by Jewel Box Ballerina also spotted on 100 Layer Cake would be gorgeous in the bride’s hair no?! Hope this inspires you to add some personal touches to your own wedding! Get crafty!
I am so excited to share a glimpse into our holiday party this year. We had the party at my father’s house (he recently moved to California to be close to Piper!). Yummy food, fabulous libations and lots of laughs…
Check out my hubby aka our resident chef making those amazing mozzarella towers topped with homemade pesto!! And how cute is Emily feeding Piper.
Missoni Pellegrino, striped paper straws, and St Germain signature cocktails featured on our holiday cards this year.
One of the highlights of the night was our white elephant gift exchange. Lots of laughs and some very funny gifts. All in all a great success. Thanks Wiley Valentine Team for a fabulous 2010. Looking forward to 2011. Cheers!!! xoxo
