Happy Mom Monday my friends! As I start my master plan for Piper’s 7th birthday…7!!! aaah!!, I thought I would share some of my favorite stealworthy ideas for your kids next party. The first one is actually from little Greyson’s first birthday party we had this past November. I created a Chewbead Necklace bar where guests could choose from a variety of different teething beads for their creations. This was such a huge hit, guests kept going back for more, creating bracelets, necklaces for themselves, key chains, it was so much fun!! I also LOVE this idea of a punch pinata. So adorable! Lawn games are always a fun addition to any party since everyone from the kids to the adults enjoy them. I love this milk and cookies themed board. I am a big fan of flower crowns, and fairy inspired crowns, so naturally this crown wall is a win win! I just love the simple but wow-factor idea of creating a balloon wall like this heart one.
I really want to start a fun holiday tradition for Piper and a few of her close friends. I love the idea of having them over for a pajama party. Play Christmas movies, serve homemade hot cocoa, and have some fun craft for them to do, like making their own ornaments. I love this snow globe ornament craft, it’s super easy, and I have a thing for snow globes this year. And don’t forget the pajamas. I am in love with these color your own pj sets from my favorite, Cotton On, and they are only $12.50! Plus they have the swan princess which I also adore right now. I would love to hear what your Christmas or Holiday traditions are with your kids?
This past weekend we celebrated my dad’s birthday in Paso Robles. I had never been out there before, and wow was it beautiful. We stayed at the most charming hotel, Hotel Cheval. On the wall in the entryway they have this collection of vintage horse show medallions which I loved. Below is a snapshot of one of them. Also my pin of the week is a must do. It looks like it takes a few minutes, and it’s the perfect thing to do with those old t-shirts you can’t bring yourself to toss. Happy weekend friends!
Well I am just getting back in the swing of things, returning from 3 months of maternity leave. There are such mixed feelings about going back to work especially as a business owner, since Wiley Valentine is my other baby. But most of all I am super grateful to have the flexibility to work in the office some days, at home others, and bring Greyson with me when I am in the office. As I flood my camera with photos of my two princesses, as well as healthy recipes and all things kids and family, I decided to start a new instagram account, PiperGreyLife, for those that wanted a bit more of that. You can follow along here.
Today’s inspiration to-go image is the cover of the latest Maker Quarterly from Mohawk paper. The colors and pattern are so perfect. It’s a great issue too, you should check it out. Also I thought I would throw in some Halloween inspired fun as we get ready for Halloween next week!!
We spent our Saturday at The Ecology Center, one of my favorite spots in Orange County. They were having an Earth Day Festival which was so much fun. We fed the chickens, made teepees, block printed, ate acai bowls and free Chipotle, listened to live music, made terrariums, planted squash seeds to take home, among lots of other things. We had a blast. Here are a few photos from the day. If you are local to southern California check out their events page, they have a ton of really cool activities for adults and kids and families. This is not a sponsored post, I am just a huge fan of The Ecology Center and all they do.
Well the day finally arrived to have Piper’s Cinderella viewing party. We invited 3 of her friends to join us and each girl received a goodie bag. The goodie bags held pipe cleaner crowns we made, tutus that my mom made for each girl, little cards with a movie quote, and homemade gummy candies I made. (recipe coming soon). The girls had such a great time and it was such a fun way to see the movie!
Today’s inspiration to-go image is a snapshot I took of my laptop case by the amazing Krochet Kids. Love their products, what they stand for and everything about them! Plus this creates a super cool pattern don’t you think?
It’s that time of year again, when you send your child to school with a clever valentine. I love these ideas because they are candy-less and you can pick the items up at the grocery store or Target. Plus they are so adorable! First up, package up a cutie with a tag or sticker that says “You’re a cutie”! Love that one. Pick up some little vials or bottles of bubbles and use the line “You blow me away”. Grab a bag of underwater plastic toys and add a tag that says “I SEA you are a great friend”. I love these little mazes with the line “You aMAZE me”. And lastly use plastic dinosaurs with the line “You are DINOmite”. Hope these inspire you guys for this years valentines. Have fun with it!
