We recently created the most stunning invitation suite for a couple getting married in Mexico. We used a deep inky indigo blue paired with softer navy watercolor textures and bright white cotton paper. I absolutely love this look. The deep blue lends itself to the ocean blue of Mexico, while the softer water color textures hint at the Mexico skies. It’s such a chic twist on a beachy vibe. Here are my inspirations for that couple along with a photo of the events card we created for them.
For a while there was such a strong push for injecting color into weddings, since this was something so different than what had been done in the past. But recently there has been a return to the classic white color palette for weddings, only with a modern twist. Think layering different colors and textures of whites, to add interest and a sense of a more contemporary look. This invitation we did used blind embossing which is raised printing with no color, combined with a neutral grey letterpress to complete the look. Here are some inspirations to help you get the look.
I love the idea of creating a cohesive look for your home during the holidays. And mixing it up each year is fun and keeps it fresh. One of my favorite looks for the holidays this year is inspired by the many holiday cards I have been creating this season. Think stars, mixed metallics, textures, and a clean but slightly whimsical feel. I absolutely love this. The great thing about these pieces is that they can be reused for a different look next year since they are so neutral in color and style. Give it a try! You can shop the look below or create your own unique approach. Have fun with it. And don’t forget to have those few heirloom pieces that reappear each holiday season. For example Emily’s mom gifted me handmade, swarovski crystal covered vintage ornaments and they are my absolute favorite. They always adorn our holiday decor and I look forward to getting them out each year.
I was putting together some inspirations for a bride, and I am truly smitten with this color palette. Think soft peaches layered tones of warm greys. Soft, romantic, a modern classic simplicity…aahhh so excited for this one you guys. I can envision a soft color wash with layers of warm grey letterpress and maybe even blind letterpress details…smitten.
This photo I came across perfectly captures the color palette I am in love with right now. Neutrals with dusty grey blush and touches of coppers!! I am dying to create an invitation with this palette. So beautiful, classic yet feminine, modern and chic.
There is something about the colors of persimmon that I just love. It screams fall. I only recently starting eating persimmon and I must say they are one of my favorite things. Cut them in cubes when they are not quite super ripe, and toss them in a salad. Delicious! Happy Friday my friends! xo
